Re-Imagine Ontario wants to spread our message that we can be the change we seek through hope, compassion and action. We believe that a single action can make a difference in our communities, and that collective action can change the world. Through action, partnership, and outreach, Re-Imagine Ontario works tirelessly each day to support, and change perceptions about the most vulnerable among us. Come join us as we work to change lives.
As we seek to improve the social and economic indicators of vulnerable populations, our vision is to foster healthier communities for youth, and their families, and seniors who are facing socioeconomic vulnerabilities.
We see value in everyone. For a brief moment, let’s reimagine Ontario where everyone can share the Canadian dream regardless of race, gender, age, religion, or politics. Where we look out for each other and support the most vulnerable among us. Where a culture of care is the norm rather than the exception.
Our vision reimagines a world where we change lives through community. We believe that if we each do our small part to reach out to that young person struggling with family, school, or career, or that new immigrant who is unsure of their footing in our great country, or that isolated senior who just needs to hear a friendly voice, then that’s one additional step in creating healthy, productive, safe, and happy communities.
We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and we are driven by the same ideas we initially founded our organization upon: support, empowerment, progress, and changing lives.
Our mission is to improve the health, education and employment of vulnerable individuals, with particular focus on black youth, through community networks, development opportunities, and family supports.
Our youth mental health programs address the problem in Ontario where one in five young person is not fully accessing the mental help they need. Low income and racialized youth are among those most impacted.
We also address mental health in seniors through our friendly visiting programs for isolated seniors.
We also do our part to help with better outcomes in education, especially in vulnerable communities. If young people have role models from within their communities, they will benefit from them. Our mentoring programs introduce young people to successful people from within their own communities, who will share their own stories and provide useful life lessons.
Our mission also extends to fostering support for individuals who are vulnerable due to the frailty that often comes with aging, through our in-home supports.
The organization’s values are upheld by the respect it shows to its most valued resources, which are its staff, volunteers and the people it serves in the community.
Re-Imagine Ontario aims to be:
We want to thank these generous and supportive organizations who have provided funding and those individuals and organizations who are working in partnership with Re-Imagine Ontario.
Securing key partners, who share our vision and mission, is a strategic imperative to delivering our programs and services, expanding volunteer opportunities, and building healthier communities.
